Brearton and

Qamar 14 presents Ozgen.

Brearton curry night was a private event, it was to raise money for repairs to their church roof. Egyptia performed a variety of dances from Khaleegi, to veil and Yasmina's stick dance.

Later in the month they appeared at a Qamar 14 event. They performed their gypsy routine for the first time and had the pleasure of dancing along side the wonderful Ozgen.

Febuary 2012

Halifax Hafla

Egyptia went to the Halifax hafla and with a bit of flare they captivated their audience with a performance of a Khaleegi and Raqs bedeya routine. The throbes of the Khaleegi style are always a winner, with bright colours and sequins.

Beverley Smith's Showcase

December 2011 was a busy month for the ladies of Egyptia. They appeared and 3 events within two weeks.

They went down a treat at the Banat Hafla, made a storm at the Marsden Hafla and of course they made a very welcome appearance at Beverleys own showcase.

Nada Showcase -Southport November 2011

Egyptia were invited over to be part of the N.A.D.A showcase, what a fantastic reception we had for our two dances. bev also put on a mini fashion show of her designs for her 'Baladi Bazaar'.

It was a two hour drive for most of us to get to Southport but it was well worth the distance, we all had a fantastic time and were delighted to be part of a great show organised by Liz Jarrett.

Summer 2011, and Egyptia have managed to dodge the raindrops at the various events and festivals we have dancing at. We always enjoy this time of year in our dancing calendar because apart from our regular hafla's and shows we get to dance outside in the sunshine. We had a great time at Kirkstall Festival in Leeds, this is the third year we have danced there and its always such a lovely place to dance as well as being a very large and successful festival.

A lovely warm evening in August saw us dancing in Knaresborough market place, it's always great to get our audiences up and dancing with us in the sunshine and this time our newest recruits Charlie and Sarah performed a new Isis wings dance with Bev, well done girls.

One of our favourite occasions is dancing at Cawood festival near Selby, set in the lovely orchard gardens behind the old vicarage, we always have a lovely reception here and have not yet had bad weather either!

This year we were interviewed by Radio York while we were there, much to the presenter's amusement as we got him up dancing with us!

This was a lovely sunny day in Skipton, which made a lovely change for us because when we have performed here on previous occasions it has always been cold. We had a great time with a lovely receptive audience.
